So, today I went to mass, and I spoke with a friend of mine to the congregation to let them know about a trip we’re doing this weekend to Washington D.C. for the Ignatian Family Teach-In for Justice, which is just the coolest thing. I’ll explain it in a later post, but for now, just google it if you want to learn more about it. Anyway, my friend isn’t Catholic, and so after the mass, one of the Chaperones for the trip, myself, and my friend Allison stayed behind to talk about Catholicism to Her (Allison), and it then turned into a conversation about the Jesuits, and Jesuit spirituality, and my discernment in Vocation.
We spent an hour after the mass simply talking about these things, with everyone sharing a bit, and Allison asking her questions about all of it, and my chaperone giving her awesome explanations, and myself helping give stories, or context, or just making small jokes throughout. It was one of the best conversations I’ve been a part of, and I’m glad I got to be a part of it. I got to also talk through parts of what I was feeling, and that made me feel infinitely greater.
So, Today’s Daily Gratitude is for those people, and that conversation, and for God for showing himself to me in them, and in the things in my life which I hear, think, see, say, learn, and do. I’m so grateful.
