So, this morning, I got Voodoo donuts with Dillon. It was a lot of fun.
In case you don’t know, Voodoo donuts is a donut shop from Portland that opened up a shop in Denver, and it’s amazing! They have all sorts of crazy donuts, like donuts with bacon, cereal, all sorts of jellies and cremes and stuff, and it’s just a lot of fun. ANYWAYS….
The line there is known for being notoriously long, but we must have hit a magic hour. Seriously, the line was about 10 minutes long. Honestly, it was nothing. I bought like a dozen donuts, and brought a bunch of them to work, and now everyone at work loves me.
But the best part of the trip was knowing that where I’m going to start school, I’m only about 15 or 20 minutes away from the shop, and maybe 80 minutes (or 30 minutes, if I’m lucky like today), from some of the world’s best and craziest donuts.
So, today’s daily gratitude is for the guy who served us the donuts. The one thing about this place is that if you order the Voodoo dozen, the person serving the donuts picks a dozen donuts of their choice, with no room for input or opinion from you. It’s a little scary, because you never know what you might get. But his choices were phenomenal. Seriously, he included the “Captain My Captain,” which is a donut covered with Captain Crunch cereal! Oh, and a donut that looks like a blunt. But that’s enough of that.
Thank you, donut man!
