So, last night I ended up Downtown, watching a play with a bunch of my friends, that my theatre teacher was in. The name of the play is “Rosencratz and Gildenstern are Dead.” In case you don’t recognize the names, those are the names of the two minor characters in Hamlet who help the king spy on prince Hamlet in that very play.
This play is focused around those tow minor characters, and is very philosophical, and very humorous. It might be the best play I’ve ever seen performed live. It’s the kind of play that makes you think a lot about life, existence, and free will, as well as make you laugh at a lot of smart (and dumb), funny things.
Essentially, the title characters begin to realize their place in the universe is only directly related to their point in the play of Hamlet, and they struggle with feeling insignificant, as well as the purpose of death, and the ultimate accepting of it.
I truly loved this show, and I hope you all know that this is the reason I didn’t post last night.
But, I’m posting now.
For all of those who got to see the show, you probably feel as lucky as I did. For those who didn’t, you truly missed out.
Okay, I don’t know what else to post.
My daily gratitude is for Mr. Pantoja, for being involved in this play, and for giving me a reason to have seen it. Were it not for that, I would’ve missed out of such an incredible show. So, thank you.
