Back from Boston!

Sorry about the short, unannounced break from posting. After my post arriving in Boston, I realized how hard it was going to be to actually post a full blog every night after getting back late from the convention. So, instead, I decided to write one long post when I got back to Denver. Here is that post:

Or, I guess it was. Really, it was over pretty quickly. But it was well worth it! The convention as a whole: all of the speakers and the sessions, and getting to meet people from all across the nation, each with a passion for journalism in some format, whether it is newspaper, yearbook, web, or broadcast. But it’s also just such an awesome city! I got to take the subway for the first time ever. That was truly incredible. Little did I know that I would be taking it often… every day. But it was still an experience!

I got to visit Boston College while I was in town, and I also got to see the Berklee College of Music (considering it was across the street from the convention center…). I think the most interesting, unexpected, but also most rewarding part of the experience was staying in a hotel in Cambridge (where Harvard is), and attending the convention in the heart of downtown Boston. Just that fact allowed me to see so much of what is the entirety of Boston. I’m so genuinely happy and grateful for this truly awesome experience. And I mean awesome as in, “completely overcome and full of awe.”

It was an eventful trip, and even the four and a half hour flight was something spectacular. So many different, wonderful, and exciting things happened to me during the trip, I can’t even begin to describe them. All of the interactions with people from my own school on the trip, and all of the different educators, speakers, journalists, and fellow students made the trip what it was. I never thought that I would get so much out of such a short trip, but I’m infinitely glad I went. This trip made me want to push myself for everything I can, so that I can make the most out of every opportunity I have.

I learned so much, and I also got to take some spectacular photos, which I’ll hopefully get to upload tomorrow. Let’s see how that goes.

I’m very tired now, and I still need to get ready to finally go back to school tomorrow. I can talk more tomorrow about the trip, and everything else.

Until then, Peace!..
